Ironbridge power station

There has been a coal-fired power station on this site since 1932. The current one, Ironbridge B, was built in 1969 and its 205 m (670 ft) high chimney is the fifth tallest chimney in the UK, the tallest structure in Shropshire, and taller than Blackpool Tower. The station is destined to close by 2016.
